Osprey with a fresh caught Kokanee salmon.
Great shot. My guess about the angle is the bird comes from behind when fishing. Otherwise the fish would see and move.IMHO

Hand held you or the Osprey. What a great fisherman. Good shot and I know hand held was you but you have to give some credit to the Osprey. That's a big fish he's holding....Rich

Every time I look at one of your pics, I reflexively say "Whoa" to myself. Great shot.
You have some well done osprey images. Having been following the ospreys around my lake for years trying to get similar images, I know how difficult they can be to get.
Congrats.

Absolutely beautiful shot!! Perhaps the fish are facing forward because the tend to come from behind when they take the fish.
Great shot Regis. The red of the salmon really makes it pop.

Just amazing capture! I feel a little sorry for that salmon 😏

Another nice one Regis. I love how these birds always try to get the fish facing forward.

Bill, they're more aerodynamic that way and when they land in a tree to eat they start with the head.
Another great photograph Regis. I don't know how you do it but training not only the osprey but the salmon to look forward is an amazing feat.

WOW! How do you manage to hand held such a large lens and take such a wonderful pictures.
The shot you posted yesterday and this one today are phenomenal. I can not imagine having a spot with those birds close at hand. Great spot and great shots. Getting birds in flight in perfect focus and exposure is a great skill. Thanks for sharing.
