Please recommend a travel tripod for mirrorless camera system..
Dear UHH members,
I would like your suggestions on a travel tripod with combined head and tripod
weighing about 3 lbs. I would prefer a Carbon fiber. I use a Sony Mirrorless system.
If you are happy with your travel tripod or know of one, please let me know.
Thank you.
Phil
Manfrotto BeFree works for me.
I have a Manfrotto MKCOMPACTACN-BK that I use for motorcycling, hiking and traveling that works very well with my Sony a7.
I have both a tripod and a monopod from MeFoto. Both are well made and sturdy. /Ralph
I use MeFoto and am very pleased.

I use a Feisol CT-3442 - you are not going to find another tripod that weighs under 2.5 lbs, supports up to 55 lbs, folds to 19" (fits in carry-on) luggage, and is stable enough to use up to a 300mm lens or 1:1 macro without camera movement.
https://www.phototraces.com/best-travel-tripods/If you order directly from
www.feisol.com you can get it without the "rapid leg" anti rotation leg locks and save about $80 off the $420.
I can personally recommend it, especially against most of the other options between $200 and $300, which are frustrating to use due to their inability to dampen vibrations, weight, size poor construction, etc.
FYI - camera weight has NOTHING to with tripod selection. A tripod stable enough to use with a particular lens and camera will more than handle the weight. Vibration is amplified by image magnification. Large top tube diameters are a hallmark of stable tripods. The very popular Me Photo tripods Have really skinny legs, like most tripods under $300, making them appropriate for wider lenses and landscape use.
Anything except the overpriced and excessively wobbly 3-Legged Things.

Hi,
I use a Sirui , that has an extendable centre column and can be "dismantled" to provide a monopod . Got a Sirui monopod as well and there products compare very well to the quality of my Gitzo tripod. Believe they are a Canadian company but dont know where the products are actually made.

I use a Feisol CT-3442 - you are not going to find... (

I just bought the Feisol 3442 and this thing is amazingly stable and light! Even without a center column, the height is quite comfortable for me (I'm 6' 1" tall).

Third vote for the Feisol CT 3442. Amazingly light and stable.

Which ball head do you use with this tripod? And do you also use the optional center column?
I used two tripods, one metal and one made of carbon fibers.
The metal one is light and cheap. It is made by Dolica and it has served me well when I have used my Olympus bodies. It has done very well also with dSLR on.
The carbon fiber tripod I have is made in China by Desmond (DCF-432) to which I adapted an Arca Swiss style clamp that I bought in the Internet. That is another tripod that so far has served me well. The price was less than $200.
There are many choices out there but regardless of what you buy good tripod techniques are as important as having the tripod for sharp photography.
