We had a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa last month. I organized the trip myself and our safari company (Pangolin Photo Safaris) said we could script our own itinerary if we could come up with 8 people. I found some friends to join my wife and I. Among them were two UHH members - Plessner and Durango. We picked a 3 week long safari that included Victoria Falls, a few days on a houseboat on the Chobe River and both lodge and tent camping.
The main thing I changed were our dates. We arrived in Victoria Falls just in time for the only three nights the Lunar rainbow is visible and were in the bush during the new moon so we had spectacular dark skies to view the Milky Way. Of course each sunset also brought opportunities. And as soon as we took our last sunset photos we celebrated with a "sundowner" - traditionally a gin and tonic just like Hemmingway did. Cheers.
Victoria Falls is one of the only places on earth to see "Moonbows"

Absolutely breathtaking! On my bucket list for sure
Wow! Brilliant photos. What a trip. I also went to Victoria Falls, we were there for my 50th birthday on 31st December 1999. What a party the town had out at the airstrip.
Thank you all for taking the time to look and comment. The tented camp portion had tents with a "bathroom" on the back with three walls but no ceiling. At the risk of TMI, too much information, it was spectacular going back there in the middle of the night and sitting and staring at the stars. It gave new meaning to the phrase "when nature calls", lol.

Great downloads, very enjoyable set.
For your information, you can capture Moonbows in some of the waterfalls in Yosemite National Park in California, USA!

Thank you, I'll try to keep that in mind. Yosemite is another on our bucket list. I assume during the spring melt is the best time?
