I did not shoot todays eclipse but I went all out in July 11, 1991. This was shot Chapala, Mexico.
Gear was a C5 Celestron telescope, 1200mm/f11, equipped with a custom 5 inch Thousand Oaks Optical Solar Filter on a Canon F-1N with a remote trigger. Film used was Fuji Velvia, shot at ISO-40.
I do not recall the shutter speeds now but I probably bracketed between 1/125 & 1/750.
This photo is a scan of a Cibachrome montage print made from 5 separate 35mm slides. The Solar filter was removed for the center shot. This is a very low resolution version, the actual photo is 19in x 24in, 231MB.
It is a very nice photo but I may be even more amazed that 1991 was 26 years ago!

Excellent montage. Cibachrome!! Creative! I'm sure the 19X24 is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice sequence. I couldn't get out to try and photograph the eclipse because of medical reasons. I had the glasses and the filter for it. Now I don't know what I'm going to do with them. I guess I'll have to take some photos of the sun to see if I can catch any sun spots.
