While in Brevard, NC we found on the college campus only, white squirrels. The college was like a sanctuary for them since we didn't see any elsewhere.
Pretty cool.....where is their dorm????
It is probably a very light phase of a grey squirrel. Don't know for sure, but that would be my guess.
They are common around there, they even have a website for them in that city... Here ya go, have a look see! Nice capture though really neat to see them captured by other's like ourselves!

I'm sure they like the college campus as everyone feeds them. In fact, this squirrel is eating part of my breakfast bar. Thanks for the comments.
There are at least 3 or 4 different places across the US that the white squirrls live. One in Mo. I have seen them on many occasions. And no they are not an albino.
They are also popular in Olney, IL I have seen many there, and they are not albino got to see a couple of black ones in Canada last summer, wasnt able to get a good shot though

Humm, a lady friend of mine lives in Ontario, Canada. Said she was attacked by a few of them! Said they just jumped from a tree branch down on her and started scratching and trying to bite her... I know the photographs she send didn't look to pleasing.

Sounds like a rare catch! Good shot!
Don't know how common they are...but they're fascinating and attention-grabbers. Here's one I got in my backyard, in Salem OR, back in 2009. This was a quickie, through my livingroom window, not nearly as sharp as I wished.
