The Birds with Yellow Feet...or better known as....
....Snowy Egrets.
In the past, these beautiful egrets were hunted for their elegant plumes by market hunters. They were used mainly on women's hats, and due to the great demand and heavy hunting pressure, they came close to joining others species of wildlife that made it on the extinction list. Fortunately they became protected, and remain so today, due to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Their numbers are currently doing very well, and they can be found all over the US. Here are a few recent shots I was able to get of these guys with the yellow socks. I really enjoy photographing the Snow Egrets. They are such beautiful, graceful, and elegant looking birds.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I love to watch them land. They seem to just float gracefully to their chosen spot.
