Some here are so disconnected to the reality of the photography business that is almost laughable.
Ya gotta hand it to Sony. Odd that they would aspire to be number two and not number one.

Even more, a lot of fanboys here were already proclaiming Sony was number two! Perhaps coming from fanboys its not odd at all.
For the benefit of an unlearned newbie, what is the ILC market?

Al, ILC stands for Interchangeable Lens Compact. Compact cameras that have the ability to change lenses. I am glad to here that Canon rules in this market. I thank the OP for pointing out that Sony is not even number two. Hoodathunkit?

Thanks for the prompt reply. Happy shooting.

Interchangeable Lens Camera. This would include all the DSLRs and MILCs. Canon and Nikon are both well ahead because they own most of the DSLR market place.
Sony is the leader in the serious MILC
MIRROLESS Interchangeable Lens Camera followed by Fuji as they are the only ones using the aps-c or 35mm sensors. But Sony doesn't make DSLRs so it can't get to #1 in the total ILC market.
I personally don't care. If Sony continues making great cameras that appeal to me, I'll buy them. If not, I'll buy Fuji. If Nikon or Canon quit messing around and get serious instead of laughable (Like the Canon M5) I'd love to consider them.
