It wouldn't let me move on after #1 - probably thought I had an unfair advantage because I used to be English.
I used to live near Wigwig and Cound Stank, (Shropshire) later near Dirt Pot and Pity Me (Durham). All of them tiny.
On another note - if I'm not hijacking your thread (ignore me if I am): can anybody explain why some photos I posted yeesterday and immediately appeared in the 'forthcoming' section are nowhere to be found in the main section today? I hardly ever post, so I had hoped they would be visible.

Dont forget Threepenny and Sixpence bits, plus florins and half Crowns also Ten Bob notes...when you got home on a Saturday night after a night on the town your trousers pockets were bulging with loose change..it almost felt like you had more money than when you went out with!..as for the Mental Arithmetic..well that went out of the window after about 9PM!!
66% and I remember the old l.s.d (pounds, shillings and pence, not the other!)

We were there for two or three weeks in 1968, and we got used to it pretty quickly. I still have some of the old coins.
For those that don't live there, it is nothing more than a guessing game. I got 58%
Guess it helps to read a lot of British authors, 91%.

You should have visited when they had pounds, shillings, and pence. That was a challenge to figure out.
50 %- but a large element of guessing in that.
Pounds, shillings and pence were okay ( we changed in 1966 to dollars and cents- much easier ). The real challenges were acres, perches, roods, chains and links to measure area, distance etc.
I got 75% , and I'm English !

91% for me also "Barton in the Beans" got me.
Anybody outside of the UK would rely on mostly guesswork for this.
