Wow those stalagmites have to be ten feet taller than they were when I last saw them in 1963. Nice shots. Hard to do in the dim lighting, I'm sure.

Thank you! I have had alot of practice in there every two or three years, since the early 70's. But it is still hit and miss sometimes.

Great pictures, didn't know you could take a tripod down there. Will do that next time I am in Carlsbad.

Indeed I too thought that tripods were prohibited inside cavern because they tend to block the path.

Not banned. Just be courteous of others. I find if I am at the entrance when they open the park, the caverns are not that busy yet. And the solitude down there when it is slow is amazing. I don't have any problem with my tripod there.
