I enjoy viewing members photos. Sometimes, I would like to either visit the location of the photo, or take a similar shot. Other times, I would simply like to know where the photo was taken. But, most photos make no reference to the location.

I travel several times a year. It would make my trips, and no doubt others, more interesting if we knew about photo opportunities that are available where I visit. May I suggest that when posting a photo, the location be added.

It would probably be more effective if you posted a comment to the specific image and asked specifically from the author where the image was captured ...

Many people do do that.
When they don't and I would like to know, I ask, as CHG CANON suggested.

Sometimes that would require multiple posts, whereas a space on the photo entry would solve the problem. No doubt I am not the only one who seeks to learn were a photo was taken.

It would be a benefit to those of us who use our own vision rather than copy someone else's - we'd know where not to go.

When you see a photo you like and are drawn to visit the site, PM whoever posted it and ask them where it was taken. Pretty simple.

But .... more difficult than expecting others to do your homework for you ...

And some of us would rather NOT know where for the same reason - if we don't know where it was taken we can "believe" we are the first to shoot there.

Easier than keeping a list and avoiding locations.

I cannot argue with that!
