Love the challenge of shooting common subjects with an uncommon take on them.
Love the first image. May I ask how it was done. Love the soft focus of the rose. The highlights on the petals make it glow, creates a warm feeling. And lastly, but of equal importance. The color slightly toned down creates a calming effect. Nicely done. May I display a couple images of mine. I offended someone once by not asking, and better yet, that I didn't even consider the tread intention. For that I am sorry to all Hedgehog viewers.

The first image is a real attention grbber!
Here are some flowers I took.
Wow Jean, those are lovely images. I have a couple that may be in a little different syle, but that's what gives us vareity in the beauty that we record.
FotoSteve, I would love to see what you have to share.
Picman, Jean, and FotoSteve those are all really cool shots. I love shooting flowers, but sometimes I feel like they can be a little boring. I mean, flowers alone are beautiful so as photographers isn't it our job to somehow add something to the inherent beauty that's already there? I think you've all done a fantastic job of doing just that.
I'm having a hard time picking a favorite but if I can go with 3 my picks are picman12's second shot, Jeanhdl's first shot, fotosteve's first.
Butterflies on flowers:
Gray Hairstreak (Strymon melinus) butterfly - 2:1 mag or 2x life-size
Pipevine Swallowtail - 1:4 mag or 1/4 life-size
Zebra Longwing female - 1:3 mag or 1/3 life-size
Nice photos. How did you take the first one?? The rose is beautiful...wonder how it would look in black & white.
Fotosteve: how did you get these pics to turn out this way? PhotoShop? Inform me, please! Cindyluwho
Nikonian72: These butterfly/flower pics are beautiful. The third one would look great as a screen print on a t-shirt! Very nice.
I haven't seen one pic that I don't like in this thread....well done!!
