I did try one sony camera few week ago, i know it is a sony but i forget the model number, the person that own it say it has 2 sensors to get is so fast. one for the light and the other for the focus. anyone know what is this model. the look is similar to the alpha series but it might be few years older. but the EVF is very good and the respond time is a lot better than my D5100 nikon.
thanks.
Not a Sony expert-- but that sounds like an A99 II....
Sounds like an a mount with the semi transparent mirror for focusing. Still uses a EVF instead of a SLR optic viewfinder.
Not trying to be a SA, but why not ask the person that loaned it to you?
Rick
he was just someone pass by and ask me to take a group photo for them.

She might have said or meant to say "two processors" not two sensors; or she might have been referring to the autofocus system that uses phase detection and contrast detection (phase detection, alone or in combination with contrast detection, is much faster than contrast detection alone).
How can anyone use a camera and not know what model it was and expect some one here to tell him.
thanks a lot, this is exactly the one that I use, very good feel in the shutter and excellent view finder. any comment on pro and con for this.

Quote with reply so everyone else will know what is the exact one you used. I'm going to assume the a99.
sorry for that,
it is the sony SLT a99ii, full frame, but one of the review said the video has to be in auto mode to get auto focus.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDcmZ6QKj04but other than that is a very body to compete again nikon and canon.

A very good camera, nothing but pro about it. Lot of megapixels, high fps, very good autofocus system, good in low light, excellent camera. Lot of info about it on youtube and in all kind of reviews on the net. Use google. I would not consider this a camera to compare with your Nikon which is a good entry level camera. But this Sony camera is close to the other end of the camera spectrum, I would say a semi pro camera. The price reflects that also.
I know what you mean too, just the feel and touch and I know it is a different animal. I am now waiting to see the new nikon p1000, I know the sensor is small but the super zoom is very interesting, I want to see how good it can handle the low light. especially I want to see if they can do slow motion like what the sony did.
Do you know of any other mirrorless that is around 1000-1300 that is good for travel, with zoom, 4k video, get the picture out of the 4k etc?
thanks.

. I haven't used it. I've been looking at Sonys with a eye toward switching to Mirrorless. This one is out of my pricerange. I'm considering the A7II. I used a coworker's yesterday.
