Excellent shots, Vickie! The last one made me laugh; he can certainly turn his head around...I'm guessing he was watching your dogs!

Great shots! I love the head turn.

There's something about the tipped head that makes that shot more appealing. The owl looks puzzled, and maybe it is as it tries to determine what's going on below it's roost.

I'm glad you liked that shot Kathy. Thanks for the visit and comments.

Both owls were very aware of the dogs and didn't let them out of their sight the whole time they scampered around. Once the dogs left, they settled down and began to doze.

I'm glad you enjoyed these Sue. Thanks for letting me know.

That's for the visit and kind remarks Luckystrike. I'm glad you enjoyed these. They're gone today, so there won't be any more photo ops for awhile.

There's something whimsical about that head tilt. It occurred to me that maybe owls tilt their head to to "listen" rather than see - maybe both. That seems to be the most popular pose, and I'm glad you also liked it AuntieM. Thanks for letting me know.

Yesterday I tackled some shots of this pair, but today I came armed with a tripod and was able to get closer and slow down the shutter speed. All of that helped a little, but I was particularly grateful that they haven't left yet. They were quite curious about my dogs who were chasing each other just below them. When things settled down, they went to sleep.

Nicely done,Vicki; great captures.
