Still on vacation , visiting my childhood summer places, in the plains of the Carpatian mountains. Where my grand grand mother (born 1918, died 2015) lived to see five generations grow up. We learned to work, and not be picky. Back then we had no Internet, IPads, Ipods,Blackberries or any other berries, just the ones you could enjoy eating. I still miss her, but I will never forget her or the place.
I always return to this place every time I visit Romania.
Time is just a limitation, memories are forever.
Enjoy my childhood place

Beautiful. Reminds me a little of where I grew up in the USA's Rocky Mountains of central Wyoming. It was the ranch my grandfather homesteaded. My father, also born in 1918, bought it in 1945.
I can see why you like to return.
The memories of your great grandma and the serenity of the area could tug at the heart strings.
Thanks for sharing.

Glad I can show something you can relate too.
It always melt my heart being here. It saddens me to see how the place slowly is dying. Every time I am here, someone has past away. Old place, old culture, old people that has watched over me, and I helped.
Relatives of the family have taken over the place, and they give me the opportunity to return.
Sitting here with some old style home brew liquer , and gasping over the place as it is my last day here before returning to Norway.
Cheers
It is good to see where our ancestors came from, and helps us under stand our roots and who we are today.

Thank you Toni Girl,
I appreciate it.
It a special place for me.
from that wonderful location, you have to return to Norway?
That aint all bad.
Some of my most wonderful times and trips as an international speaker were in Denmark, Sweden and Norway,
Having been given the gift of public speaking and blessed with awesome agents, travel all over the world was an unexpected jewel.
Again thanks for sharing the home site
Now you have to go home shoot more "quickies and share them too.
You were blessed, as many of us have been, to have had family and childhood memories to carry us through life. I can certainly relate to the feelings and appreciate the happiness & sadness those memories bring us. Happiness when we revisit and reminisce; sadness from missing the people who provided us with those memories. I believe, in the end, it all works together for good.
I hope to visit Europe on vacation verses work sometime and find more of my OLD roots. Cheers.
Here are some shots of where our ranch was and a family photo in front of the old ranch-house I grew up in. The little boy is me. I'm now 62.
