I hope the other cats an animals got the chance to sniff and sit with her. We have found that all animals understand death and will grieve. They also need to know what happened.

So sorry. It is so hard to lose one of our babies. She is a beauty and she looks so comfy in this photo. That is a long time for a kitty and I shed a tear for you.

I too am so sorry to hear this dreadful news. I'm a kitty father of 6 (now 5). Each life is precious, and to loose one in very difficult. Love them while you have them with all your heart...and I know you did.

Everyone, my wife and I are comforted and humbled by your outpouring of condolences and prayers. Thank you for sharing and allowing us to share our love for our lost friend with you. One of our remaining Abbys, Duncan, seems to understand my sadness, and has taken up Liddy's place on my lap to comfort me as I write this.
