We had a family reunion last week in Jonesport, Maine, a true "downeast" lobster fishing village. We rented a great house through VRBO.com which was right on the bay with a lobster wharf on either side. A magical week. This far north at the eastern end of the time zone, sunrise was at 4:50 AM! Lots of hard-working lobstermen headed out at sunrise to set and haul traps.
The panorama was taken with an iPhone. Others with a Canon 6D. These folks are some of the friendliest, hardest-working you will find anywhere. They are happy to chat about their work. And it is always great to hear stories from some of the older folks - very funny, especially when told with the downeast accent.

It is a great area. We did not get to Lubec to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse - that is one of the greatest!
