In my opinion, flash is very difficult today because you have to outsmart both the camera and the flash unit, and both have many modes--all in foreign tongues, and all different for different models. It was easier to learn the guide numbers and their use--but that was hard enough, and many people never got past the inverse square law. Still, at least they had graphs that came with the equipment, showing settings to use for different distances. Both bulbs and electronic flash units had charts telling you what apertures and shutter settings to use for different distances, and that was it. At last I found a new flash that is not dedicated to anything, at Amazon, at it is easy to use on anything from digital to view cameras.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU GO TO THE CHURCH AHEAD OF TIME AND TRY SOME THINGS OUT. IT'S CALLED BEING PREPARED.
I couldn't agree more! Event photography can go off the rails fast if you are not prepared. >Alan

Thank you all for your kind answers. I would explain a couple of things for better understanding. I am in Ecuador and I volunteered for my inlaws 50 wedding anniversary. Things are more difficult here and I can't go before alone to the church and it's not a commercial job.
SS319 I will practice your system and let you know the results.
Thank you all again
I'll send a big CONGRATULATIONS to your in laws!
