Did you get the opportunity to visit the botanical gardens? We stopped in Wellington on a cruise around NZ several years ago and found it, and really the whole country, quite beautiful. We were there in February, which was summer there. A trip to remember. Thank you for kindling that memory. I would love to visit again.

I'm quickly filling up the HD on my computer with lots of photo ops. Hope you enjoy these. It may take another week to finish the New Zealand photos.
So, this is last Saturday, day one of the trip and probably the nicest winter weather we may get. Much of this day was spent exploring the city and making plans for other adventures.
My husband is working here, and has been "commuting," spending 2-3 weeks here followed by a couple at home. On this occasion, when he suggested I might like to come along, I jumped at the chance and hurriedly packed camera gear. The 60 D and 7 D were brought along as well as my "walk around" 16-300 Tamron and the Canon 100-400 for wildlife. After figuring that out, I packed winter clothes. LOL
Now...back to editing...

Wonderful memories for you. I particularly applaud the glass front pic, the W Bay sailing and the waterfront venue. Very pleasing array of shapes, subtle tones and texture. Enjoy your stay. And be sure to visit "Hobbit Town." Matt

Beautiful series Vicki, enjoy your stay, look forward seeing more of a place I'll never see.
There are many more images to post. Right now, there's a major rain/snow storm hitting both islands, and it's cold. I'm inclined to stay in but will feel guilty if I don't at least try out the new rain hat.
Thanks for the lovely comment Mike.

I'm not really a city girl, but Wellington has a lot to offer. The people are friendly and the city is immaculate. Now...if we could do something about the rain! Hopefully there will be more sunny days like this one before I leave.
Thanks for the visit Jane. I'm glad you enjoyed this post.
