my guess would be not, buy a couple a low level rental houses for that and make some money

That seems a bit high. Trike kits cost around $7,000, but you have to figure in the construction cost.

more than a bit I think? A new bike that has been triked runs about 35,000. The scary part is, when its a Honda, the factory warranty dies the day its triked regardless. So, in this case you would be buying a brand new bike with a trike kit that has no factory warranty. Of course, the dealer will still treat it like a new bike and never report to Honda that it has been triked but what if like a friend of mine you get 2000 miles away and the motor blows? Its not pretty

Wow! A friend used to do Motor Trike conversion on Gold Wings. I have no idea how much he charged.

That trike costs almost exactly 2x what my car costs (before discount) and I wouldn't ride it in the winter. Some people have too much money.

Now that you mention it, that applies to me, too. My son and I each got new Honda Fits, and I doubt the total for both cars was as high as that one trike.

back years ago a new full dressed Harley touring bike cost about the same as any family sedan. When Honda started dressing the Goldwing for touring it cost about 1/2 of whatever the latest Harley cost. Now, apples to apples the newest Goldwings seem to run about 4,000 to $5000 more than the equivalent Harley. Add to that the production of the Goldwing has been moved from Ohio to Japan and once it has been converted to a trike, even if its brand new, the warranty is void.

In my view they are really pretty in some cases ( depending somewhat on paint and color) I can't justify buying one. I just came from the Harley dealer and a brand new, beautiful "Triglide" is about $34,000 w/ full factory warranty

Trikes seem to be popular with older people - couples. The friend who converts Gold Wings to trikes has a wife whose balance (or something) is off, so the trike is much better for her.

its a good way to be able to keep on going when for whatever reason they may have to stop the two wheeled lifestyle. I read somewhere that "trike" is now the #1 best selling of all the motorcycle styles, regardless of brand. I do not know that to be true but I know its very possible from what I see on the road and at different venues

I see a lot of those new ones on the road - two wheels in front. I forget the brand.

I think a few different brands are now making something like that, the biggest company is probably Polaris but like the older trikes a company or two is also now making kits that can be installed on other bikes, like the Goldwing and some Harley models. Probably another high $ option, just my guess.
