I trust all my fellow UHH members had a safe and wonderful 4th of July. As we were working so was the Peoria Fire department. When I got home from my ER shift, I sat down, watched TV when my pager and radio went off " Working House fire!" Even though I had just gotten home from a 13 hr ER shift, my adrenalin surged,I grabbed my new NIKON D500, my NIKON 24-70mm 2.8, and the NIKON Flash5000 ( Quite honestly I couldn't get my D4s and NIKON 70-200mm 2.8 AFS ready so I grabbed the first camera that was near).
Although the fire was out by time I got to the fire scene the firefighters were still putting out small fires and tearing down walls as well as pouring water on the hot spots. As many of you know me by now, I ALWAYS shoot for the facial expression to capture the intensity of the moment. The photos I have attached are from the 4th of July house fire.
Any comments or suggestions are always appreciated.

Excellent shots .
How many battalions do you have in The PFD ? Just curious .
My Father was a B/C in Newark , NJ , NFD has six battalions . When he was Captain in Engine-18 in the 1970's the city had a working fire every 45 minutes . The city was literally burning down . It finally calmed down in the mid 1990's .
Stay safe .
(Great photos !)

Peoria Fire Dept has 12 stations and 3 battalions. As with most fire stations over the years there more EMS calls vs fire calls. When I was EMS DIRECTOR of the Pasadena Fire DEPT many years ago and EMS DIRECTOR in southern Delaware subsequent to Pasadena, there was an increase in fire response to EMS calls in addition to fire calls.
