Hey from Virginia

I'm from the Williamsburg Virginia area. Lots of good shooting stuff around here but I haven't had much of a chance since I have only had some older point and shoot cameras. And an older Pentax P3 thats been in the closet for the last 20 or so years. Kodak is gone now along with that wonderful Kodachrome film.
But things are looking up for this old retired man. I just purchased from Adorama a new Nikon d3400 with a couple of lens. I know its not the the upper end camera just above PAS cameras. But I have read that I can take some pretty good pictures with this camera. I'll give it a try and see.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here. You guys and gals seem to be very knowledgeable. So I will be lurking around:-)

Welcome to UHH Allen, glad you joined us. The D3400 should last you for a few years until you are ready to trade up. Have fun with your new camera.

Thanks for the welcome. My handle is from the old days of Unreal Tournament which was a 1st person shooter game. The handle seems to have stuck.

Welcome to the forum Allen, from a fellow Virginian. I live in Staunton in the Shenandoah Valley.
I'm sure the D3400 will get you some great images. It is more than a step up from a P&S camera, it will be a whole new ballgame for you.
