I've been introduced to daytime long exposure photography. I've not yet taken any images, but would like to begin soon. In order to do so, I need to purchase a couple of neutral density (ND) filters. There is a wide range of prices ($20 - $124) for the same type filter. Can someone explain to me why the difference in pricing? It must be the materials used to fabricate the filter, right?
I have dumped my lee filters, for a new company call breakthrough filters out of San Francisco these filters are absolutely color neutral, compared next to my lees I couldn't believe how much of a color cast my lee filters had.
Breakthrough just finished a kickstarter for their first NC grads. Square
Filters.
Now to cost what ever you do most times price = quality. A friend purchased a $30.00 10 stop and we were looking at his mages and the 10 stop effect was good but there was this print along the bottom of the photo it was the reflection of the lens information because the filter was not coated and reflected the ring back into the photo
