canon 5d mark 3 to mark 4.
If you made this upgrade I would like to know if you are happy with your decision.
I do not do any video and am pleased with the results of my mark3. That being said I have been looking at the mark4 on ebay and am thinking about making the switch.
Yes or no.
thanks
I never got a MK III; I have a 6D and a 5DSR. I got a MK IV about 6 months ago and I really like it. The 6D is nice for low light conditions and things that aren't moving very fast. The 5DSR is simply an amazing camera, but it's not meant to be a general purpose camera, and it is not. The MK III is a great camera but it is getting a wee bit long on the tooth. The MK IV is also a great camera, it's like the III only better. I use its 4K video for single image capture. It's like having 30 fps, even though the image size is limited, but they're still pretty good.
The MK IV also has better AF than the MK III and several other nice enhancements. If you can afford the MK IV,you should go for it, you will like it.

Yes, I think its worth the upgrade as it is a markedly improvement over its predecessor, as was the m III, over the m II. I have both of them and as soon as it becomes financially a possibility to me, I will upgrade again!
A good question to ask is, "Will you see a $1500.00 improvement in your images?". There isn't any doubt the IV is a huge improvement with sensor tech but some people feel they will see big improvements in their images. I'd love a IV but my III still makes great images. You have to weigh what is important to you and whether you can justify the price. Sometimes all it takes is improving your technique to see the difference.
You are 100%correct. Is $1500 worth something that I may or may not even see. i love my 3 and so maybe I'll stay with it until someone offers me a deal I can't refuse. What do you say godfather?
Every one seems to want the next camera body as a way to improve their photography, how about a better lense or photographing some thing of substance.

I agree with you; however I have all L lens for my mark 3.
I have and still use both the 5DMkIII & MkIV. There is a clear improvement in IQ when making very large prints, or smaller prints of crops of prints from the 5DMkIV. there are other improvements, mostly related to additional controls that permit faster and easier selection of points of focus. The algorithms controlling several of the automated functions are also improved. My 5DIII is now a backup camera, also used when I want two cameras for quick switches when working with wildlife. No hesitation that I'm happy with the newer camera though.
I went from the 3 to the 4 to be able to increase my ISO for some of pictures. I find it was wort it to me. I can't tell you about some of the other improvements but it is a fine camera as is the 3 but 3200 ISO and min of noise was my change

I say yes. More megapixels, love the touch screen and built in features like the GPS and WiFi even though I have not used those features. I have not used the video yet either but it's there if I want it. I'd say the touch screen and larger images are what set them apart though. About the only thing that I don't like about it was when taking pictures of "orange" subjects, they appear red on the LCD. I tried many things to make them appear orange to no avail. But the actual images were orange when downloaded onto the computer.
I have the 5D3 and love it. I personally would not benefit from an upgrade.
Instead I am working on my skills both SOOC and in post.
If I have to upgrade I will consider the 5D4.

I have the 5D/III. Canon has recently dropped the price for the D/IV with 24-105 F4 L II abt $300 bucks. Wonder if this portends a Mk/V.
The mark1V is a considerable upgrade over the mark111. The 5D by itself is a great camera.
what does one think that the mark 5 could offer over the 4? more mp, faster shutter or what?
