Thanks, that was interesting. I particularly liked the fact he ONLY promotes from within his company, stating:
“I will not go out and hire some MBA graduate from whatever college,” Halle told Tire Business. If he was to hire an outsider who has never worked his or her way up through the company, he might as well "drive around to 700 stores and slap every one of my guys in the face"
That's my kinda guy.
Still love the tire return commercial.
Arizona is inundated with Discount Tire stores but are no longer the "discount" retailer they professed to be when they started out. They now sell mainly brand-name tires, but their model of good customer service continues. They appear to be busy most of the time. It seems to me that they now charge premium prices for products which includes great customer service. Like other products, we live in a price match world, so while they continue to be successful, they are no longer the cheapest initially, but assuming you have a lot of product failures, they could be cheaper in the long run.

I think you have to really shop around to find your best tire prices nowadays.

Sent to me by fellow UHHer Widetracker who is currently enjoying a break on the Puget Sound. Thanks Bob
Many successful men and women today didn't start out that way, many had failures and bankruptcies, but they persisted and made capitalism work for them. I don't understand the kids today who think socialism is the better idea. They have no idea what that would bring.

Bruce Halle is an example of the kind of person who makes America great. A veteran who made a success of himself to take care of his family and then went on to create a thriving business, providing jobs for over 18,000 people and only promoting from within his own company. America, look to individuals like Bruce Halle as an example of greatness, not the buffoon in the red ballcap!

Now isn't that the truth. The millennials are in for a rude awakening, if they ever grow up!

Let's keep politics out of here before this all goes south and ends up in the Attic. Your ending remark was uncalled for.
This was posted at just the right time to remind me to send in my $50 Discount Tire credit card rebate that had to be postmarked by the end of this month.
I went online this afternoon but couldn't find the rebate form on the Discount Tire Direct website, so I emailed the sales agent that sold me 4 tires in early May. He quickly replied with an attached pdf Yokahama Rebate form, but I told him thanks, but I already sent that one in and was needing the one for the $50 DT rebate.
In his next reply he stated he had found the form and filled it out and sent it in for me!!!!
So all I can say is WOW! - talk about going the extra mile. So it would seem this company is the equivalent of B&H Photo when it comes to tires.
