I have been wondering why people don't put the locations of their photos? I think it would be nice to know where all these wonderful photos are taken, that is just my option. Iam sorry if I am out of order for asking. I don't know if its it's up to UHH admin or what.

A question not asked is a question not answered.

It isn’t a requirement. Some do give the location, for those that don’t just ask them if you want to know.

If you ask I would tell you but I don't want my images contain any information besides the images.

I was just referring to your apology for asking the question. This is a good place to get your question answered. I didn't really have an answer to give you.

There was a discussion some time ago on UHH about why some choose not to put their location in their profile. My point at that time wasn't that I was so nosy that I wanted to know where you live, it was so I could have some idea of the geographic location of the landscape and wildlife shots. We have many members living in the UK, Canada, Australia and anywhere else where English is spoken and when I see an animal or flower I've never seen before I'm interested to see where it came from. For interest an English deer looks a lot different from one from California or Idaho. Same with a European Robin. Much smaller and not as red in the breast. Enough said. Some people fear strangers locating them and harassing them I guess. It's not my place to say that's a bad idea. I live in a state with 40 million people in a country with over 300 million. I'm not afraid of someone tracking me down because I said I'm from California. In fact, I've mentioned my city and even nearby parks and preserves so if anyone is looking for me now they can start in Sacramento which only has about a million souls give or take.

I'm sure some it doesn't occur to some people to give the location of their photos. If you are interested in a particular photo, you could ask the photographer where it was taken.

Generally I do give location information, and gladly give further details when asked. I don't know why some choose not to share the location of their images; perhaps they just want to keep it secret.
