Please check the Post again, at the end of the article they have had to post a correction, that whole theory was debunked at the time and somehow in their fever to point at republicans they lost track of that, Loughner at the time was a left wing nutcase, he never saw any of Palin's maps and probably did not even know who Palin was, he had been obsessed with Giffords for sometime prior to the shooting, he was diagnosed as schizophrenic and pretty much just plain crazy. The shooting of Giffords had nothing to do with republican rhetoric and everything to do with a leftwing nutcase. For you to suggest that I am not logical and simply wallowing in the mud because you yourself have not taken the time to become better informed is truly shameful.

I will also point out to you that the Post and Times both since the election have been busted several time propagating fake news, it would seem that since the president's election that those papers have abandoned what little remaining shreds of integrity they had.

The only problem that I have with your entire statement is that in the Giffords case right wing rhetoric had noting to do with the shooting incident, in the Scalise case left-wing rhetoric had everything to do with it. So the Post makes a completely irrelevant and false statement and it is supposed to mean something? I don't get it.

Go ahead and insulate yourself from the reality of the hate boiling from within your party Frosty, I have never known a conservative to unfriend a friend because they were a liberal, it does seem that these days there are many liberals who will no longer associate with conservatives. That comes from misunderstanding and hatred. This shooting will mean nothing, very soon we will see the lies and the vitriol coming from the left as if nothing has happened, it is the way in which your party motivates its base and once motivated the base joins in through social media and other means... It gets no better, as long as your party is out of power the current political atmosphere will be the norm.

It all started with Mitch McConnell announcing the republicans were going to do everything possible to make Obama a one term president and the name-calling and insults has continued ever since. Republicans constantly critized Obama for Obamacare, the budgets, taxiation, and the ever increasing defict, even though they controlled both the revenue and spending.

We have listened to that kind rhetoric for eight years. Your side has heard it now for about four months. You control the presidency, congress and have a majority in the Supreme Court. Trump has cancelled environmental rules that will pollute streams and won't increase coal mining, he has rescinded rules that require investment advisors to put their investors first instead of themselves ( fiduciary responsibility), made our NATO allies question our comittment to their defense, insults the Australian Prime Minister, he lied about releasing his tax forms, the great healthcare that will be better and cheaper....the list goes on and on. Is there really any wonder why liberals are criticising Trump.

Now after five months you are tired of the hatred, vitriol and criticism. I am tired of it also. I got tired of it eight years ago.

Now after 5 months of criticism, you republicans are tired of being on the receiving end of this crap. I would expect that the liberals on this site would like to hear some conservatives admit their behavior was less than exemplary. It seems from some recent posts that some conservatives.are in denial about ever being part of the issue.

Lastly, an example of conservative behavior unlike anything liberals have done. I don't understand what appears to be planned and coordinated attacks on one regular Attic participant, namely, Keenan. Yes, he fights back and can be as crude and brutal as his attackers, but can anyone blame him? What's going on? Will someone please explain?
