Hey everyone! I've been shooting for about 5 years now and I'd like to think I've improved since I started. I moved out to seattle about 2 months ago but I'm traveling pretty constantly. This city is a MECCA of photographers which I wasn't expecting when I got out here. I've been shooting on a Canon 7D, but recently I picked up a sigma dp2 merrill and a pentax k1000 so I'm looking to sell my canon gear (Message me for deets) and go with either a Pentax k1 or a Pentax 67 (I have lots of limited glass from my dad/grandad). All photos are from the past month, the waterfalls are from hikes on opposite coasts.
Things I shoot: Landcape, Macro, Automotive
What I'd like to do more of: PORTRAITURE
Any tips on good photo spots in france appreciated, I leave on the 28th

CRITIQUES ALWAYS WELCOME!

Welcome to the Hog. France - Unfortunately you just missed LeMans (it's going on as I write this), Paris of course, country chateaus. In the south, the grand Canyon of Verdon, anywhere along the Riviera, almost any remote small town, particularly Eze near Monte Carlo.

I agree the artistic slant on the roads is cleaver , if on the rb67 would make quite a large print.I would love to see it about 6 feet long or longer would sell well .Also great for an auto ad....

I've been hunting eBay for a Pentax 67. If I pick one up with a 90 or 105 lens I'll redo the shot

I have a Pentax 645n with a 75mm 2.8 and 45mm Wide the n series has auto focus , and matrix metering .I have the flash cables ,and corded remote trigger , spare 220 back one 120 back ,with case.I have been shooting velvia 50 .I may sell it though, because the 2 processors of c 41 have left the state of Florida and sold their drum scanners ,and I want high res scans at reasonable prices .I got a Nikon d810 instead. I will sell.around $650.00.I also have the Pentax flash..

I keep missing all the best auto events... I'm tempted to buy a F1 ticket for japan so I have an excuse to go over there...

I might be tempted, the reason I was looking at the 67 is because I love the simplicity and I could repair it if I needed. Not so sure about anything with electronic metering but I'll do some reseach, sounds like a solid deal. I was planning to spend about $700 on a mint 67 and a 90 or 105 lens when I get back from France even if I don't sell the 7D.

I have $950.00 in it ....just got really upset when local film processors got rid of their drum scanners...The one thing Ken rockwell has always said about film is that a 645 is capable of about 250 megapixels using velvia 50 with no grain pretty cool..but scanned with a good drum scanner ..and as the scanners get better the megapixels in theory get higher.. Tim Fitzharris has a book called national Audubon society Guide to landscape Photography shot mainly with a Pentax 645 n...later books he went digital with a Mamiya 645 phase one p25 digital back..

I'll keep in touch with you, I get back on the 7th but I want to have some extra emergency funds, I always take half as much stuff and twice as much money for travel. And the IQ even on 35mm is great, thats one of the main reasons I'm moving back to film. And I'll probably have to pick that book up.
