Phil........ I have a confession to make to you and the previous UHH members.............I added the lightning to the photo. Without the lightning, the photo would be rather ordinary.

That's where your "artist's eye" come's in handy! I Don't give a Rat's butt how you did it, I simply like it! Good job!

I am a mountaineer, and once while climbing the Grand Teton in Wyoming, my climbing partner was on the upper ridge as a dark cloud moved in upon us. It looked like rain for sure. The static electricity was just as you described it with the hair standing straight and my climbing partner's ice axe that was attached to his day pack started arching electricity and shocking him to his neck. Fortunately for us it did not rain or have lightning or I would not be writing this to you. Static electricity is what happens right before lightning happens. We and you all narrowly escaped the bolts. You are right to be careful. I hope this message is read by anyone in similar situations so they can avoid possibly being killed by lightning.
No One Rude Dawg, I did not use a lightning trigge... (show quote)

It is your photograph and you can do as you wish, I think they call it, " artistic license " , in any case it is a great composition. I especially like the "texture" of the grass. I also have a couple of different lightning detectors, they work well, I believe they even have apps these days for them. My wife has one on her phone , I highly recommend them. Keep up the great work and stay safe in your travels. Remember " news isn't always something that happens to the other guy".

Is that the foue horsemen I see thundering across that lake?

Great shot, Brent.

4 horsemen? I don't think so, but if your imagination has a warm fuzzy feeling of the 4 horsemen thundering across the lake, then go for it!
Thanks Cykdelic for the "great shot" comment.

Absolutely outstanding. Love the layers and colors and the impending storm. The lightning just sets everything off.

Awesome AuntieM! So glad you approve of the image even thought I had to add the bolts for interest! Thanks AuntieM for the compliments.

Cool Phil, glad you like it even if you had to bring in the rodent's rear end. I agree about the artist's eye part.

Jenny, "Raining Cats & Dogs" has REAL potential! Just remember, the best tool and artist or photographer can have is his (or her) mind. If you can't think it, you can't create it. Shame on YOU too for suggesting something like that! lol
