I have been hired to do drone photography of some events in my area by a company that has never used them before and I have never had to sign a contract to use my drone before these new laws to take photos and sell them, so my question is this, has anyone here had to use a contract in drone photography and if so could you give me some pointers as to what I should look out for and what I should be aware of to make sure that I got my a$$ covered as well? I don't see where this contract should read any different than a regular contract for photos, but eh, what do I know? Thanks......
Where are you located, and where will the drone be used. It would help to at least know the country. Hidden does not come up on google.
Are you licensed? Don't expect big bucks unless you are seasoned and of note.
Sorry Nikonbug; I didn't realize that my location was in hiding. I'm in Wisconsin, USA.

Yes I am licensed, insured, and ready to go. Not looking to get rich, but looking to make a couple of bucks doing what I love to help offset the costs. Just looking for some friendly advice from others to help me cover my a$$ while in in the field.
Thanks.
If it is a legal question, an attorney.

What do you mean by you are licensed. Do you have the FAA license or are do you mean that you paid the fee to fly a drone because it's over a certain weight? From what I understand, if you plan to do any commercial (fly it for pay) work with a drone, you must be FAA licensed. This will require a test, fee and a license like a amateur radio license issued by the FCC.
Effective August 29, 2016 all commercial small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drone) operators are required by law to be licensed with the FAA.

Well, it's not now that he put where he lives in his profile.
Hi jeep daddy
I am licensed by the FAA. I paid the fee, took the remote pilot test, (passed with 87% which was below the 90% I was aiming for), and have my remote pilots certificate. So for the next 2 years or until they decide to hit us up with more "fees", tests, rules, or regulations I'm good to go by the FAA's guidelines. I took the test to use my drone for commercial use as well as recreational, not for weight reasons.

The only thing I know about Drone contracts is, if they want you to shoot in a national park, and many state parks , its forbidden, you'll need a separate contract with the govt.
