Sony A7Rii LCD screen replacement

While traveling in Alaska the LCD screen on my A7Rii cracked unexplainably while in my ThinkTank sling. I didn't bang or drop it but when taking out the camera at the end of the trip (fortunately), I've noticed a crack on the upper left side and only few lines on a bright background when turning the camera on. Judging by the EVF, the camera is fine otherwise. Any suggestions where I can have it replaced. I've never needed service from Sony before but have heard some fairly negative comments about Sony service centers in the US. Being an ex Canon shooter I am used to a very good service and am apprehensive about Sony. Any suggestions? I am based in M.D.. Thank you.

Contact Sony. In warranty? Don't bad mouth Sony until you have at least had some experience with them. I haven't had to use them, but I had a bad experience with Canon.

No longer under warranty. I do intend to contact Sony. I wasn't badmouthing Sony but only expressing concern based on reports that I've read. I hope that the reports are wrong.

Why wouldn't Sony provide good service? Out of warranty, which means both Sony and the repair facility will make money. Good luck, let us know.

Yes, unfortunately, a number of members have posted about the poor quality of service from Sony. They make great cameras, but if they don't provide great service, that will eventually hurt sales.

I had a problem with the screen on my a77 which had to be replaced. They didn't have the part in stock at the time so let me use the camera while on holiday and when I got back repaired it while I waited. I was quite happy with the service. But,.... I used Sony Canada. So I'm not sure if there's a difference between here and there. But the the distributors of the various camera brands are usually quite helpful because it's good for business. When you hear of problem situations it's usually a good idea to hear both sides of the story before you judge. Lord knows, there's no such things as problem customers!!! Try them out and judge for yourself.

Good to hear. I have an A6000, and I'm just assuming that it will keep working forever.
