Zorkiphoto.com posted the first segment of this list in september 2016. With the advent of new films introduced, the list keeps getting longer.

Zorki details the history of both the old films still being sold, and new entries to the field.

In addition each film is described for it's best use. Yeah...OK.... Kodachrome is not coming back--- rumors of it's re-issue are just that.

However, there is plenty of film choice available. For those of you mildly interested in film, and fed up with the rising cost and work involved in digital, this is an interesting read.

I still shoot some digital. After all, I do need to post pictures for my film equipment sales on eBay and Etsy.

Rising costs and work involved with digital photography compared to film. Doing it properly you must be joking loads more work with film and miles more cost. I do both and just took 50 photos digital cost £0, thats $0, compare to two films , developing chemicals etc etc etc

What did your memory cards cost? Digital camera cost (depends on camera type and model as pro FF cameras cost more than an entry level DX) compared to film camera? How about your computer, RAM, HDD's to store your photos? Software to process your photos? There probably are other things that cost you money as well that I didn't mention.

Sure, film, chemicals, or sending your film/slides to a lab to process do cost money each time, but to say digital costs you nothing compared to film is simply not a true statement.

In relative terms a Nikon F4 or 5 is equivalent price to a Nikon 750.Yep computers are not cheap but I didnt purchase it just for Photography, and it to is now 10 years old running a 10 year old version of Photoshop, I do not need a dark room, Enlarger, tanks etc for developing and printing , ink jet paper is cheaper than photographic paper and I do not need different hardness grades ( though I do have several different surface ink jet papers, as I would have if I were printing via an enlarger. After all this time I cannot recall the cost of my memory cards, but today via Amazon a top notch card 16 MB, Lexar Professional 16GB 1066x Speed (160MB/s) UDMA 7 CompactFlash Memory Card is just £24. Look at it properly there is very little difference in outlay for a good film or equivalent digital set up, just ongoing costs are higher for film Kodak ultra 36 exposure film at £11.66 a go my 50 photo shoot would have cost me £20 plus add developer, for film and paper you must be bordering £30. So lets talk risingh costs , computers, memory cards, printers all are loads cheaper than just a few years ago. I could i admit change my camera every year, get new computers and newer software, but the results would be hard to justify the expense ( I am talking up to A3plus prints). Once you are set up and digital photography can be a very low cost hobby

My point was that whether or not you shoot digital or film, shooting digital is still going to cost you something. It does not cost $0 or £0. Its not free to shoot digital.

Yep, the sold column at eBay (last six months) show a large number of F5's averaging sold prices of the film F5 ranging from $250 to $500, with a high percentage in the $400 area.

F4's from $100 up.
