Hello I'm from Mid Central Wisconsin. I always been a fan of the film. I stop for a time cause I thought film was dead. Then one day I saw film at the drugstore and the same day at a second hand store. I saw film cameras for sale. That got the spark going for me to bring out the old camera. So I brought some film from the drugstore and snap some photos. Got them devolpe and now I hooked all over again. So I started looking online film camera stuff. I was shocked to see how much is still film.
My camera is Minolta Maxxum QT si. I enjoy taking photos of wildlife and farmlands. Black and white film is my prefered media. I have settled for color when I have ran out of black and white.
I did try a digital camera. You know the kind the super simple point and shoot. The things I hate about them. I never seem to get the photos printed. And when I did it always has to be glossy. I'm a flat and matte finish guy. I just did not get to like them. Them kind seem to take the joy of working the camera. That I came to enjoy with older film cameras.
Well I been thinking about trying a newer film camera. Like the Nikon FM- 10 I think the model is. Has anyone one tried one yet. If you had tell me what you think.
So I guess that is all I can think of for now. If I can think of something else. I will add it at a later time.

I shoot both, film and digital. I really came to enjoy digital and all it has to offer, but like you, film is my favorite! The way you print, is a matter what paper you choose (it does not matter if you shoot film or digital), you can have all the different finishes with both!
Welcome! Looking forward to your posts and pictures. Happy shooting!

I would suggest you sell your film camera and come in to the 21St. century. With a DSLR you can shoot color and/or Black & White
and see your photos immediately. The money you can save on processing you will soon be able to buy a photo printer.
In any event welcome to the group. You will learn a lot here.

Welcome to the Hog Hippie, enjoy.
Welcome Hippie - I went digital 17 years ago but never gave up my three Minoltas. Now I'm rediscovering them and film. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Welcome to UHH Hippie - 2000, glad you joined us. Still have my 70's vintage Nikon FTN and Nikomat (came directly from Japan). Grand daughter wants to take photography in high school next year and needs a 35mm film camera. Got the Nikomat out, got new battery from B&H along with some TriX-400. Ran the TriX thru the camera, brought film in to get developed and will pick it up on Thursday. Hope everything still functions properly.
Have fun, learn and enjoy the forum.
