I'm still researching the name of this plant, but without much success. It grows in a planter, is about 3.6 feet tall, and may actually be a tree or shrub of some sort. I have never seen this coloring in a plant before ....... it's not wilted but part of its natural color pattern.

Is there more than one of these plants with that pattern? You see it in more than one location? If potted I guess it is a "nursery garden plant" found in people's gardens. That sort of pattern could be a "normal" genetically determined variety or it could be due to either a
deficiency (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Sulfur, etc.) or a
virus. An
arborist that knows what the plant is would know about the color pattern. Yes, it comes back to that, knowing what the plant is. I think I've seen them somewhere too but have no idea of what it is. The leaves are sure pretty though.

There were several of these plants, displayed side-by-side Michael.
The leaf colorings are unusual, but I do like the shot!!!
Nice shot Bob but can't help with ID.

Maybe it's an egg plant. (Or is that spelled eggplant for the veggie)
Bob , I've had a plant like that before - it's like a coleus with the flower in the middle. I don't think I had it in a pot tho'. There is nothing wrong with your coloring.
I have since learned this is called a Joseph's Coat plant, also known as a Copplerleaf plant.
