If I remember correctly, we went from Moki Dugway to Goosenecks park.
I don't know if anyone mentioned, that if you go to Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon it's best to wear a hat. The sand is constantly falling. Maybe a bag or something to keep your camera covered. When we got back home I ended up with sand inside my camera. (I did not change my lens).
And don't forget about Monument Valley and Lake Powell areas. I've attached one of Glen Canyon Dam and a couple from Wahweep Marina at sunset.

Hi all, would like recommendations for a trip to the four corners region. Two locations for sure that I have in mind are the Chaco Canyon for nighttime stars/astro photography and also antelope canyon (upper or lower???). I will be spending 7-10 days on this trip. Any recommendations on preparations (time of year, lodging, etc) or thoughts about these two sites and what else in this region would you recommend i research and visit in addition to these locations.
All opinions welcome. You guys are the BEST! Thanks.

A few years ago (2013) I took a photo tour through several slot canyons. We were fortunate to through Upper Antelope at night. Our group had the whole place to ourselves for a few hours. If you can find someone that gives nighttime tours I would highly recommend.

Thank you one and all! This information has been extremely helpful. I really appreciate being a member of the UHH community and to call you photographic colleagues!

I can't speak to the immediate four corners area (we drove through there 45 years ago), but there is one thing I would do if there (also from that long ago trip), and that is drive to Durango CO. It's only 85 miles, and you can then ride the narrow gauge steam train to Silverton and back (which is in our plans to do again). Lots of photo-ops on the ride and Silverton is a great place to wander around before the return ride. Then drive up U.S. 550, the Million Dollar Highway, at least to Ouray (about 1:45 according to Google Maps); the vistas are spectacular.
BTW, we enjoyed our 4 days in Charleston last June and plan a return trip.
