Freeway fire

I was on my way to the county fair to see how my pictures
did and saw the beginning of this fire. When I came back from
the fair I stopped along the edge of the freeway for a short time and snapped these. These people are remarkable that take chances with the water buckets. When they start to sway they actually pull on the helicopter. Very scarry.
Shot 2 was where it originated from a backfire from a car. It burned 5220 acres and threatened 44 homes (no homes were lost).
Shot 3 was taken from a rest stop (police chased me off the side of the freeway) and is on the backside of the fire at about
8PM.

Great pics, I hope you sold them, or at least tried to, to a local newspaper. If I were an editor, I would have bought them and run them.

Thanks but there were a lot of real photographers there. I did try to send some to the local stations but my computor died that night. We have a lot of fires in southern Oregon (however not like Texas) that are mostly lightning strikes and last night we had lightning in our hills so there will be a lot of fires to put out.

If I were a newspaper editor, but I'm not, I would have run with both 1 & 2, great 'on the spot' photos, IMO.

The helicopter shot with the spraying bucket is fabolous. great job. Oh tell Mr Moses i love his 10 commandments :lol: :!: :!: Im sure you get that alot but i am a smart alec and cant resist.

Thats cute. I'll let him know. His 80th birthday is this month

my 50th is on the 30th of this month. When the assistant pastor at my church listed the sept events and asked if he missed anything, I piped up that the the 30th was a National Day of Mourning since ii was turning 50 and now eligable for aarp membership. tell hubby I said Happy Birthday and in the words of Pharoh so let it be written so let it be done. :lol:

Mr Moses's birthday is on the 29th and our 44th wedding

I did think of something you might want to crop a half to three quaters of an inch from the top of the helicopter photo to eliminate some of the dead space and draw attention to tthe chopper.
