Not a bad shot, but I'm not sure I'd use it as a senior picture. Have the options changed recently? Are you allowed more than one? When my yearbook was photographed (Matthew Brady,I think...lol) you got ONE shot for the mug gallery. Everybody's looked ridiculous ten years later. This shot could be 'anybody', not your subject, with the helmet on.

It's a nice picture, but as a senior picture, no. You can not see his face.
Maybe let him hold the helmet in his hand or arm pushed up against his body with the helmet in between. With him sitting on the bike. Kinda like a Evil Knievel shot.

Did not scroll all the way down, you got one without the helmet.

The "Happy Smile" shot is much better style-wise, although I think it needs some processing that I'm not qualified to suggest.

I feel you have capture a lot of energy in this young man. Overall, these are very fun pictures. There great in showing his interest, and personality.
Now, you are taking photo's for something that is hopefully going to be timeless. I'm sure you have realize that the overly artistic angle shots can become a very dated look, so be careful about that on some of the shots.

As Jim mention, maybe a little P/P would help also.

Remember, you did a great job in capturing his personality, Bravo for that. My personal opinion is that you need to try and make it more classical, (dirt bike is great) just not almost on it side unless it's an action shot. Some angle good, just don't over do it. :D (talking about the last one) Limit to one shot with the helmet for the yearbook.

May i also suggest finding a different location and venue for a totally different set of shots. Mix it up a little. Show him doing something else.

That's a fun shot too, but is it me or is his hair dirty? Maybe it's just what some of the kid's like currently.

Typically though, one wants to look scruffy, but not greasy. It's hard to find the line though, Good luck in explaining that one to a 17-18 y.o. boy.

Overall I like the shot.

Is that you in a Military uniform in the Avatar? Looks like an action shot from the Middle East?

I also want to add that I have a bunch like that of my 16 Y.O. daughter, after I saw them I fiqured that maybe I went overboard too.

I edited a bit, hope you like it.

My brother was in Desert Storm with the Marine's and my sister retired out of the Navy in '99 after 20 years.

Thank you for your service to our country, not to mention to other countries that need us.

Glad you liked the edit, show it to him and see if he notices his hair. (Mom's always do) As well as girls.

I've seen tons of senior photos in the past where the face is not shown. I think this is a great senior photograph. As far as being the "Main" photograph, no, but as a line of photographs yes. It shows his life style very clearly. Great job on this.

Other's may not agree but other will.

I also think it would make for a great advertisement or journalism photograph!

Regarding Sr. pics--these are not the posed shots for the year book. You still get the one with the jacket and bow-tie for the year book. The trend now is to do a full on photo shoot for your "senior pictures". Some parents will pay BIG BUCKS for that! I know of a couple that spent about $500.00 on those senior pics!

In New Orleans their are some very rich people who spend thousands.
I like all the pic's as I said before. t
The different venue is great and I think the young man is lucky to have you taking the pictures. Just get him to wash his hair. (That's the Mom in me talking). :D

I agree about the hair! I guess those were taken AFTER he'd had the helmet on for a while. Looks like a bad case of hat (helmet) hair!
