This took about two hours out in my patio with the 400 on a tripod, These guys are flighty and move around really fast. And there are dozens of them around my fountain. These 3 finally settled in for a nano second so I could catch this shot. It held together for up to a 20x30 print.
I really like the shot. Love the water bubbling, but dislike the background. The birds get lost in that yellowish tree.

I like it as well. It's kind of funny how they landed with the bright yellow one in the center. I know that all the birds on the fountain are the subject but the yellow one in the middle really draws you into the photo.

What is the point of focus, is it the bird on the left? I find these types of shots can be quite amusing

With these little Goldfinches flitting around all over the place..they are so fast..I was happy just to get them to sit still for a few seconds..long enough to grab this..they come in pairs..they come one at a time..they land on the left sidel or the right side or the middle..It was impossible to pick a point and hope they would land there.
When I set it up I tried to make sure just above the edges of the fountain was in focus..no predicting what the birds will do. I got lucky to gety 3 of them to sit for a few seconds. Odd numbers always being more pleasing than even numbers..
Nice picture of these hard to get birds. I have taken 400 pictures of the guys over a 2 hour setting and the hardest part is going over all those pictures and coming out with a few that look ok. Congratulations on a job well done.
