We will be going on a Cruise this summer. I have a Nikon 3300 with a 50-100 zoom lens and a 50-300 zoom lens any suggestions on taking Quality Shots from a moving Ship? Thanks.
Assume where you are going is sunny?
From the ship, fast shutter speeds, for water reflections
take a circular polarising filter.
Enjoy the trip.
Thanks. That helps. Yes it will be sunny.
Oh I forgot. From my experience on a ship, forget tripods, the vibration of the ship can transfer through the tripod
to your camera, subject to the type of ship of course. Hand held with a fast shutter speed should be fine.
From my personal experiences on many cruises, if it were me I would keep the 50-300 on my camera. Especially true while in any port.

Hold the camera steady and have fun. Simple as that.
Leicaflex has it right. I was going to post the same advice. Enjoy the cruise. I have alway gotten good images with a faster than normal shutter, hand held images.

Just back from our 18th cruise. My 18-270 Tamron was all I needed....

I hope you also have a fast wide angle lens for interior shots on the ship. I've used a tripod and handheld on the ship and have never seen any blur in my shots. Just make sure that your speed is high enough (increase your ISO) for the focal length and aperture you select and you should be fine.
Thanks to all. Very helpful.

Don't lean on any walls or railings for support-vibrations travel thru the ship. Use appropriate shutter speeds (1/300 minimum for the 50-300 zoom)

fast shutter speeds will allow you to get shots even with the ship moving. A circular polarizer will help with the sun glare on the water .
and dont forget your battery charger . You can plug it in on the ship.
One lens, the 50-300. Can't go wrong with that lens!
