Ross's Goose dropping in

I was shooting some waterfowl shots, when this single Ross's goose came in. It's the first time I've seen this species in the spot that I was photographing. For those of you who are not familiar with the various types of the waterfowl, the Ross's goose is a smaller version of it's larger cousin, the snow goose, which is quite common. I don't often get chances to photograph this smaller white goose.

Very nice Lame-Duck! Good job with exposing the whites. They are fairly common on my part of the Pacific flyway but are still vastly outnumbered by the Snow Geese. I really enjoy your work.

Thank you Phil, I appreciate your kind words. We have them down here in the central valley of California. But like you mentioned, they are "vastly outnumbered by the Snow Geese."

Sylvia...Thank you very much Sylvia. With me, good timing is most often just plain ol' good luck.
