Trying to shoot landscapes handheld with a point and shoot. Still have a way to go.

You are obviously putting effort into your work. I prefer the first because of the greater clarity. It is very attractive. I also like the flowers in the second shot.

P&S Camera are very good lately, many have advanced and produce some fine images, They have much higher MP sensors today, although they are not nearly as good as a Quality DSLR Sensor, much smaller than a F.F. Nikon or Canon Sensor. Your P&S images are very nice, the 1st one seems to be a bit sharper and better composition.

If you want to stay with a P&S Camera, check out the Panasonic Lumix line of Cameras, most have Leica Lens, high quality images produced. You can spend $$ -- $$$$ on a P&S, sometimes as much as a quality beginner DX format DSLR Camera. (Ex. Nikon D3300, D3400, etc. ). The P&S come as a complete package, Camera + Lens built together, DSLR's Have a wide variety of Camera and compatible seperate lens to choose.

I just received my Panasonic Lumix FZ300 yesterday, after returning a disappointing Sony P&S. Only got a quick chance to try it, but it looks promising so far. I will spend quality time with it today and try to learn the many bells and whistles!
