Thanx for all your suggestions. What about Bass Lake and its surroundings?
Please send more suggestions. I appreciate it very much.

Irve,
Bass Lake is a beautiful place to stay and has some great hiking trails. For me the drawback is it's about 45 minutes away from Yosemite Valley. For me, I prefer to stay at the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal, which is 10 minutes away from the front gate. Have a great trip and take lots of pictures.

Be sure to visit Glacier Point (it will be shown on the map of the park) to get a closeup of Half Dome.
Tioga pass is currently closed. As of 3 weeks ago there was 30-50ft of snow on the road. Last week snow removal began, and the park personnel I spoke with didn't think it would be re-opened until July 4th. However, a quick look on the Facebook page shows that they are making some progress as of 4/20
https://www.facebook.com/YosemiteNPS/Route 120 is also closed from the east and the west, so the only access is 140 or 41. Mariposa Grove is also closed to vehicles.
Best to check with the following sites for the latest info:
https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wroads.htmhttp://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/mtnhwys.htmThe valley floor, and from the loop to Tunnel View is all clear, and I heard that Rte 41 is now partially open. The Ferguson Slide on 140 still has a section that has two temporary bridges to bypass the slide area and is still reduced to one lane. Wait times in early April were 45 mins at the detour.
Even if you can't drive to Glacier Point, there is plenty of stuff to shoot. Check out some of the pics I took on 4/5/17
