Gotta love the Blues. I'm from Pensacola and grew up watching them as they are based there. The shows never get old.
Good shots, gatorgirl51! I always enjoyed watching them!

Thanks for sharing your excellent photos. Didn't get to attend personally this year so it's nice to see what I missed.
Great photos! But then, any picture with an airplane in it is not wasted on me. Here's one of my all time favorites; me standing under the wing of a North Korean aircraft. The pilot defected just before the war started. I'm not sure if that's a gun barrel or a pitot tube trying to poke its way out from under the camouflage.

Back in the Day - - the Blue A's spent the Winter flying over El Centro, CA.
I know - - cuz one fine morning, they decided to do a flyover using our C141 on the runway as their crossover point
Yeah - - it was 1976, and our plane was static - monitoring 2 of the 3 GPS satellites then in orbit.
But it would have been nice if their #1 plane was a little higher than 100 feet AGL.

Looks like ship #4 has a passenger in the back seat. I'll be shooting the Blue Angels up in Oshkosh in July. I have some pics form another airshow on my FB page, but they could be better. I'll be renting a pro lens for the first time so I can't wait to see how they turn out! I try to get to AirVenture every couple years or so and try to stay for the week. when I drove a truck ('04-'07) I arranged one of my 34-hour rest periods so that I could attend Sun 'n ' Fun. Went on a ride in a Pitts S2B for about a 20 minute aerobatic flight. THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! I'd love to get a ride in the B-17, but I don't have an extra $435 sitting around looking for something to do :(
Wow! How exciting to be so close. Cheers.

The Blue Angels are performing at the 2017 Sun 'n Fun International Airshow in Lakeland, FL this weekend. I live about a mile from the airport so am lucky to be able to sit in my yard and watch the show. Plus the Blue Angels fly right over my house. Hope you enjoy a few of the shots from Friday's performance.
Great shots; I love the Blues! The first time I saw them was in the 1950s at NAS Moffett when they were flying F-11F Tigers (still one of the prettiest airplanes IMHO). The last time was a few years ago at the now Moffett Federal Airfield. I have seen many photos of them at their Fleet Week airshow over San Francisco Bay, but have never braved the crowds to go (it's only about 30 miles from my home). I'll have to do it.
