Well, I sure can't agree with some of you who voice "sadness" about the changing London, and the resentment of people who profit from the ever-present "change"
in the appearence of a living, breathing city...my personal memories of that city is full of memories that continue to endure after all these 67 years...the people
( both friendly and otherwise ), the traffic...the weather...the food ( Fish and Chips, mostly), the Bobbies...301...Gin-and-Orange...Although I've been back to London several times since the 1950's, I am still able to slip back into those memories to visit my old 1950's London...and smile.
So, don't be sad...enjoy London as it is...and was...and will be.
Cheers.

Wonderful shot. The clarity, composition and story line is very good and I agree having visited London that the historic building are being dwarfed by the sky scrapers.
This is sad to see. I was in that Pub several years ago. Nothing like it.
Do you know if there are any plans to take it down?

Excellent capture Geoff, reminds me of Boston, lots of new mixed in with the old!

Excellent shot! And to think that in it's heyday, all of London was probably about that tall.
Excellent shot, Geoff! They say without maintenance, all our high rises would disintegrate and be completely gone within a couple of hundred years, while those low-tech pyramids in Egypt have been around better than 5000. Who built smarter--them or us?
That deserves a Pulitzer Prize!!

Lovely old pub Geoff; loads of soul, character and history there. Shame really but that's life and progress isn't it? Different world these days in so many ways I guess. At least the pub is till there (for now anyway!)
Cheers Steve, and thanks a lot, its appreciate,
Geoff

I would expect there is now a preservation order on this one Don, although that said if the pub is not profitable then like so many pubs around the country it could face a change of use.
