Most men have owned one these denim trucker jackets. Each one has a long
history of seeing its owner through working on cars and trucks to struggling with
DYI projects. This tough sturdy cotton twill that comes from diagonal ribbing that
gives it the ability to stand up under rough use. The blue indigo dye is what
gives the fabric its blue and white texture as it is laundered over and over rendering
a patina known as faded glory. The guy who invented the Levi riveted
jacket and jeans was Jacob W. Davis who got Levi Strauss & Company to make the clothes.
That was in 1873.

I have one hanging in my closet. I also have a sleeveless one.
"Trucker Jackets?" They're Levi Jackets, Son.
Go on E-Bay and see what they are called. I am certainly old enough to know they were called Levi Jackets but as I have
found out what I remember is that is not what most of the population has renamed them. As some of my Southern
relatives say "Bless Your Heart" for pointing that out.
When I was young and lived in Colorado, I always had at least one "blue jean jacket". Now, living in Miami, I don't own one.
I have several. Two light weight and two with a lining for colder weather. I wore jeans most of my life, except when I get "dressed up". Like going to Church, funerals, etc. They are a great, long lasting product. Of course, anymore, "long lasting" is not ALL that important!
Never used to work on cars... buttons scratch paint!
But yes I have had the same Levi's Jacket for 50+ years and I wear it 2 or 3 times a month, creature of habit I am...

I have 2 "Wrangler Hero" Jean Jackets...1 light stone washed...1 indigo...Love them..!!!
My last 'Trucker Jacket' got eaten away with battery acid when I was jump starting a 1978 Kenworth tractor and one of the batteries exploded. Apparently, it was frozen from the 12 degree temps the night before. My jacket, sweatshirt and overalls were toast after coming out of the wash. The joys of being a mechanic played havoc with my clothes.

And with the time I spent in the south, I know exactly what that means.
Very interesting, Pixelmaster! I had a "jeans jacket" but don't think Al ever has.
