Hey, it's a bitch to not get older too. You know what they say, Damned if you do and damned if you don't. It may not apply exactly in this circumstance but I think it is close enough.

I always loved Gordon Lightfoot's epic song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Sometime back, I saw a program on either PBS or Discovery Channel, maybe Nat Geo (???) where sad they are now sure to a forensic certainty that the doomed tanker on Lake Superior was lifted by two unusually large waves, following each other in close succession, with just enough space between them to allow the long suspended hull to crack due to lack of support. The program was before I had ever heard of the term "rogue wave"...but it's certainly possible that that's what they were - - gonna do a bit more research on this now. I do remember hearing that Superior is the most treacherous of the Great Lakes...

Unexpected and/or unplanned infirmity or disability is certainly much worse than aging...and isn't always related to it.

I agree - - a brilliant piece of story/poem/song writing.

I like this version for larger lyrics on-screen...

A 100-foot wave hits a ship in the North Sea, during an intense storm. Had the ship been much smaller it could have been catastrophic, but the ship managed to withstand the blow.
