From the time we are conceived till the time we leave this earth, we are consumers of information our thirst for knowledge, the understanding of it and the ability to utilize information in a way that is beneficial to our self and the people around us is what helps us grow as people and photographers. Information is a powerful tool and in photography it helps to understand why and how our cameras operate as they do and how to use them to capture a moment realistically as it unfolds or in a more artistic way. Ugly Hedgehog has given us a way to share our craft and exchange information in a way that helps promote our craft. I have read and enjoyed the comments and conversation in the topics section, but this is where the title of my post, More information please comes into play. Photographers for the most part are all ways willing to share ideas and advice but to give the proper advice sometimes we need More Information please. If you are looking to get your first camera or upgrade the first piece of information is how much can you afford and what type of photography do you see your self involved in. Next do you own any equipment or are you starting fresh this will help us guide you in a way that will be more helpful to you in choosing camera equipment. Problems with existing equipment or a question of why one photo came out well and one poorly requires more information please. A photographer posted a photo of a heron in a marsh taken with a Nikon camera, no word of the model that I could see in the post, a 1.4 converter and a Nikon 200-500 F 5.6 lens, both photos were cropped and taken at F 8, one with a converter and one with out, I did not see the shutter speed posted or the model camera used this information would be helpful in trying to find the problem with the blurry photo, remember information is our friend and the more information we have the better we can help you. For our birders out there they are not easy to photograph as many know and if they don't come to you you need a way to get to them, a longer lens helps but not every one can afford a 10'000$ telephoto so because I photograph birds in and around water I went the kayak rout, even if I don't get a killer shot it is relaxing way to observe and photograph wildlife. Take care and enjoy life and photography, remember More Information Please.

" in a way that helps promote our craft" --- I don't think that photography is MY craft! But thank you for your interest in this hobby and birds are not of great interest to me except fighting cocks. Now a game cock will fight to the very end of it's life. I am the son of a game cock lover who knew just how many feathers were in the wing of the bird plus hundreds of other details. He trained them to fight and his roosters (cocks) never lost. It was a sad day when our state (Louisiana) passed a law out-lawing game derbys and mains. Here we are EATING chicken but we can't let them fight? Oh - but we are always ready to go to war and kill the shit out of one another. I just don't understand the way some people think. I'm going to control myself -----
