For your 1st try I don't see how it could look better. If this is your 1st try just think how good you will be once you learn all the "dingys" to play with. Now go to PickMonkey and remove the shine............

" Portrait Professional " . Wanted to ask what you thought of it and its effects when working on portrait photos, looks nice and the price is good but don't know how others like the look of the process.
Thanks
My first attempt with PP Like most programs there is a to learning curve but for the price I think it a handy tool to have available
Is it okay to post PP I did on a picture with Snapseed ($20)?
This is not to be meant as harsh, but this is what I experienced as being over done. The fine characteristics of the face get lost and it begins to look "waxy". Maybe if you edit a little less it will look more pleasing.

I use Portrait Professional 10. It's well worth the paltry cost. It makes facial editing very easy. It DOES overdo it with the initial automatic fix but the changes it chooses can be trimmed back so the effect is very subtle. You can also use a tool to just fix one little spot if you like. Let's say a face has one pimple and the rest of the face just needs a little bit of smoothing of skin pores, just minimize the smoothing manually, then use the edit tool to rub over the pimple a few times and it's gone. Cloning is not required.
Try their trial version and see what you think. I'm pleased with it and I'm glad I bought it.
I bought the software and it is fun to play with. Yes you can over do it and people look like dolls, but you can scale back using the sliders to get a real life photo. It is easy to use and does help with portraits, hair, eyes, lips etc. Yes i would buy it again. I bought the studio version because i shoot in RAW most all the time. PS its not expensive.
So far I love the software the picture I posted is of myself and my wife I'm 62 and just wanted to remove a few of the skin spots and lines which the software did in less then 5 min. I can see where you can over due it a bit, but you can do that with PS or any other software too. I just turned down the effect a bit, I want the photo to look nice but still look real. I did one of my daughter and now she wants me to fix all of her old photos of her now. I do have a discount code that anyone can get another 15% off the price. " VMBO-NTPQ-PDVA-CVQQ " I think I will up grade after I learn this one some more, but it seams very easy so far. I think the photos look like the glamour photos that most everyone has always liked
My personal opinion you may have overdone the faces a bit. If your customer liked it, ride on. That is what we mentioned, overcooking is easy, they grew about 15 years younger but if they are happy, I'm happy. Keep playing with it and you will get it where you want it.
I am getting /lots of advertisement or this now. I agree the samples they show even look overdone. So Riverbud, how is your experience now after having it several months?

I still love the software, everyone I have used it on have loved it. If I give them a choose between one photo with or without they always choose the one with the software. Just don't go over board, which you can do with any software that you use.

You can over do any PP program you use including crowd favorites like LR4, PSE11, PS, GIMP, and so on. What I found with Portrait Professional is that the factory defaults are a bit too much. The program allows you to take control and you can back things off to suite your taste. Having said that I would mention that the options with Portrait Professional are very limited when comparing the program to the others I mentioned above. It is what it is, simple and limited but for some it will meet their needs nicely. Download the free trial and see what YOU think considering YOUR needs....as always JMHO.

It cant be bad for the price and option to use in conjunction with another software as needed.

I have it and it's not "bad" but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for ones only PP program.

Here is my position on it. (I've used it and Imagnomic Portraiture too)
For what they do...I can do a better job and almost as fast with PS and a $5.00 action.
By the time I get done "tweaking" the "auto" smoothing so it looks ok...I could have done the whole thing by hand and come out with a better result.
If you have PS, then I'd recommend going that route.

I agree with you 100% however you first must have an alternate program and second know how to use it. If you have one and know how to use evem the basics there would be no value in adding this one only to soak up memory.
