Love the technique and the result. A stunning and elegant way to showcase the forms of the bare branches.

I do have a question: on the bottom, the trunks are out of alignment. Is that on purpose, or unavoidable?

I enlarged the background so it's out of alignment on purpose. The composition is more pleasing to me than if everything was aligned. I play around with things like this until I'm satisfied with the result. Can you find the cropped section in the original photo?

I'm enjoying your work,Julann. I agree with your thoughts on the bare branches, of course you started with a good photograph. I am fascinated by your borders,i.e.,having part of the image become the frame. I noticed that in your other elegant floral still life. Is that a download program or do you overlay a larger image of the same scene?

I overlay one image on another. I usually use a copy of the same scene and enlarge or crop it to use as the frame. I sometimes let the frame reflect the top image or randomly clone in parts of the top layer as in the still life. I isolate the frame layer to clone from the top image to it. I use different opacities to get various effects. It's done in Photoshop. I appreciate your kind comments very much.

Thank you Somerset. The first one was produced from a cropped portion of the second one.
