Has anyone used these tutorials? It's a lot of money to plunk down, and I'm looking for feedback.

I've stopped plunking down money for instruction. The cost is always higher than the instructional value. I've done some on-site courses that run for a couple of days, but I look on them as more of a getaway or a vacation than pure instruction. Look at free online instruction, lynda.com, and CreativeLive. Lynda lets you look at everything for a week for free before you commit to a month for $25. I sign up for the month every now and then and watch all I can.

Paying Elia $1,500 for two days - plus plane, hotel, and food - is $1,500 more than I would pay.

I hate sites that make it so difficult to get details about the course - details like the price.

EDIT: Wow! It's $300 for one of his (12-hour) video courses. I don't recall ever seeing one that expensive.

Look at Craftsy and Udemy; they have some good courses, unless you are looking for expert level courses. If you wait for the sales, you can get most courses on Craftsy for $20 and on Udemy for $10. You can find both on line or you can use iOS and Android apps.

Lots of libraries, including mine, provide access to Lynda.com. I'm taking a Photoshop course right now through my local public library and it is costing me nothing.

It doesn't help me to tell me about other tutorials, etc., but thanks for trying. I wanted to hear from people who actually used this particular tutorial and what those people thought of the tutorials.

Just maybe that means nobody wants to spend that much money.

Well then I don't need to hear from them.

mdsiamese may not have appreciated the info about "other tutorials," but I did! Thanks for the recommendations!

I would gather, from the general lack of responses, that nobody who posted has been through these seminars. Might just possibly be due to the apparent high cost. Personally, I have never heard of this person, not that I claim to know everything! Best of luck.

The general lack of responses actually does give me more information about my original question than the non-responsive answers. It tells me people in this forum are not familiar with the tutorials, which is a perfectly fine result to my query.

I come and go at this forum. Sometimes I read it every day, sometimes I get so fed up with it that I go away for months. The reason I get fed up is when someone asks for help, so many times the thread gets clogged with non-responsive responses. Personally, I would rather get no responses than non-responsive responses.

I guess now I'll go away for a few months until I get suckered back in to thinking there might be something useful in this forum.
