HI Mike,
The very last picture reminds me of the spot that we used to visit, although I'm sure it is not the exact spot. That country is very interesting country even though it looks dry and brown. When we visited our relatives along the river, we kids used to ride horses. But the horses often wouldn't go where we wanted because of rattle snakes. I remember one time my uncle picked up a watering trough for the horses and a big old rattler was under it shaking his rattle at him. The summers were idyllic as the ladies would cook up a huge dinner at 12 noon and all the guys out working in the fields would come to "supper" when she rang the dinner bell. My favorite was the ice tea. cool and refreshing.
Thanks for posting these photos and allowing me to step back in time for a few minutes. I live in the Seattle area which has totally different weather than eastern Washington.
